    Casillas began his career in Real Madrid playing in the youth system when he was only 9 years old, in season 1990/1991.

    After scaling positions in the club, he had his debut in the Premier League team at age 15. In that season he also selected to play his first international match: Rosenborg – Real Madrid.

    Two seasons later, he was already starting goalkeeper of the team, a position where he has lived all Real Madrid victories in the last years: five League Championships, four Spanish Super Cups, two King’s Cups, two Champions League and one Europe League.

    He has also performed as goalkeeper for the Spanish National Team, winning two Europe Leagues and a World Cup (South Africa 2010).

    Regarding his personal life, he began dating sports journalist Sara Carbonero in 2010. The couple has a child named Martin.

    He played in his early years in Zandvoort '75 and VV Schoten. At age 15 he joined the junior categories of Ajax Amsterdam. When he became 19, he entered the Premier League team and won two leagues, three Netherlands Cups and four Netherlands Super Cups.

    In August 2011 Stekelenburg became the Dutch player that has ever played in AS Roma, after a transfer to the Associazione Sportiva Roma for €6 million; a team in which he lasted only two seasons before leaving to join the Fulham as goalkeeper after signing a four-year contract.

    Maarten Stekelenburg started playin in Dutch National Team in 2004, becoming the first orange team goalkeeper who played two World Cups (in 2010 match against Spain) and two Europe Leagues.
