When summer ended he went back to Valencia for the preseason. That's when he starts to play for the Valencia team. On July 5, 2012 he made his return to the club, making him the first to sign of Tito Vilanova. He has won Liga titles, Spain Super Cup and European Championship in Poland and Ukraine.

    He started in his town soccer club, Camas (Seville), but son entered the Sevilla FC quarry playing in junior categories until his debut in Premier League with the Andalusian team in season 2003/2004. After two promising seasons, Real Madrid recruited him for €26 million, becoming so far the most expensive transfer of a player his age.

    This young player (19 years old at his arrival) grew his relevance in the team, becoming second captain and developing that role in absence of the first captain Iker Casillas. His versatility has made him a key figure in Real Madrid, playing in the following season both as right-back and center-back.
